Check out this local bar in Oceanside. I went there for the first time a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed this place. Their happy hour is Monday through Friday from 3-7p. For more information about their events and happy hour visit their website at junkyardsportsbar.com
They have a lot of regulars as I learned when visiting there and the reason people frequent this bar is because the atmosphere is relaxed and most people that go there visit several times a week. It seems to draw followers because it has a neighborhood feel and even when I went there as a newbie, I was treated like I had been there many times before. I met everyone sitting at the bar that day and the conversation was open and friendly. I think people that go there are very outgoing because they have a regular schedule of interactive events to include karaoke, goldfish racing and more. It is known in the area as a "go to" spot for drinks and activities.
I love the decor at the Junkyard, The owner, Joe Jeffrey, is a local himself and he has acquired an interesting mix of collectibles that are hanging on the walls or on display throughout the bar. I love that sort of thing because that is what makes a place like this, and many other like it, unique and visually appealing. Character is key in local bars!
Here is a glimpse of their beverage menu items. Support your local bars.
